We welcome back wildlife photographer Kevin Pigney after his very interesting talk last season. Here Kevin tells us how he uses flash to get his wildlife images.
Thu 7 Nov 2024 - EXTERNAL Competition - the 4-Way battle held at Letchworth Photoclub
This is an external competition of PDI images and Prints between 4 clubs: Welwyn Garden City; Stevenage; Letchworth; and H2 from Much Hadham, who have accepted to join this competition instead of Hertfford Photographic Club. The judge will be David Steel.
An email will be sent out to all members regarding entries for this external competition at the start of the season.
Tue 5 Nov 2024 - Members Night 02 - Viewing Evening - "The Masters of Print" exhibition
We have taken up an offer from the PAGB to host a "Masters of Print" exhibition. This is available to all clubs in the PAGB. Here we will see many of the best prints that have been submitted to the PAGB and see the styles and techniques that have made them such special prints. This is an opportunity not to be missed.

Christchurch: PDI Competition 1 - OPEN Subject Judge: Ken Payne
Normally we ask members to upload up to FOUR images when the competition subject is of an open nature. If there are too many images by the start of the competition, the fourth images will not be considered by members can use them in later competitions.
Images must have been uploaded to the club's NEW website by midnight on Friday 25 October 2024.

Christchurch: Local photographic expert Simon Weir will describe a new more esoteric type of photography - IR Photography. See how this yields fascinating results in black and white.
Tue 8 Oct 2024 - PRINT Competition 1 - Open with no Time Restrictions - Judge Malcolm Rapier
Christchurch: PRINT COMPETITION 1 - Please hand in your prints for this competition by Tuesday 01 October 2024 at the meeting at Christchurch. Also remember to upload the PDI version of your prints before the competition as well. Full instructions of how you will be asked to do this will be sent out beforehand as we are using a new Club website and upload system.
This will be an OPEN competition and there will be no restriction on when the image was taken or how as long as it is your image.
The competition will be judged in two rounds, the first for colour...

This is an external competition for Landscape Photography that is held every year at Potters bar Photographic Club. All are welcome to attend. There is parking under the venue situated at Wyllyotts Theatre & Cinema, Wyllyotts Pl, Potters Bar EN6 2HZ

Tue 1 Oct 2024 - Speaker 1 (F2F): Cat Humphries - "My Journey into Theatre Photography"
Christchurch: We welcome Cat Humphries for the first time to our club to give a talk on "My Journey into Theatre Photography". This is a topic that we haven't looked at before and I'm sure will delight our audience. Whether it is theatrical plays, music gigs, concerts I'm sure we will get some good tips. We'll see if we can follow this up with a trip to our local theatre (the Barn Theatre) to take photographs during a dress rehearsal - not promising anything though.

Tue 24 Sep 2024 - Members Evening 01 - Tips on better images, better print preparation etc.
Christchurch: This will be a talk/discussion night but bring your cameras along. We aim to cover topics that will give you better images - getting better exposure by use of the histogram, better focussing. Ken Busbridge will tell us about how we should prepare our images for better printing. However all tips from the audience are welcome.

Christchurch: Start of the season informal meeting at Christchurch. This is where we will outline the club's programme for the year and discuss any topics that are important e.g. the club's new website, how it works, the new method of uploading images for competitions etc. We will also welcome back re-joing members and welcome any new club members.
