We have just this week learnt that we have been allocated a place to exhibit our photography in the Howard Centre WGC in the vacated Goldsmiths store.
To make this venture a success we would like you to submit up to 6 (Six) of your photographs, though, depending on total submissions, we may not be able to display all of them. We will however ensure a fair representation of prints entered from every member for display in the Howard Centre from Friday 21st August to Friday 4th September.
In order for us to manage the photographs we are using the Competitions page of the website. Please enter your photos as you would for a competition but in this instance the naming of your photo should be as follows.
Name of picture
A picture taken with a camera, that is not offered for sale (the easy case)
Number-Name of picture
A picture taken with a camera that is on sale for “Number” pounds (no decimal points!)
MP-Name of picture
A picture taken with a mobile phone that is not offered for sale
MP-Number-Name of picture
A picture taken with a mobile phone that is on sale for “Number” pounds
For example my mobile phone picture called 'overhead Kick' a print for sale at £25 would be called MP-25-Overhead kick.
We want to make it clear that as a club we embrace all forms of photography on differing devices.
Please bear in mind that you will be submitting a PDI in the required format of PDI and print competitions on the website. Subsequently you will need to produce a finished image mounted on a 500x400 board as your submission for the Exhibition and be in a position to get it to the exhibition. Delivery/Collection will be arranged later.
The club will take every care to ensure your exhibit is returned in the condition it was presented.
As the website is setup for competition entries you will still have to tick the competitions rules page and additionally agree to the following.
Public display permission: You allow the photo to be shown publicly by the club.
Selection control: the club can choose which submitted photos are displayed.
Suitability standard: The club have permission to exclude photos not suitable for public viewing.
No claims for excluded work: member agree that not being selected doesn’t require a reason.
Rights/credits: confirm that you own the photo.
